Big Snow Coming?

We're under a Blizzard Warning now, something that only happens once every few years in these parts. It's been a really long time since we've had a good dose of snow all at once, we'll see if we get it this time.

I copied this from the National Weather Service:

* MAIN IMPACT... SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 6 TO 18 INCHES ARE EXPECTED... WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS IN NORTHWEST INDIANA AND SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN. SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH WILL CREATE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS... WITH ZERO VISIBILITIES IN BLOWING SNOW AT TIMES AND SIGNIFICANT DRIFTING. SNOW DRIFTS OF 4 TO 8 FEET WILL BE POSSIBLE IN MANY OPEN AREAS.

I like it when they predict snow drifts by the foot.

I probably won't be biking to work tomorrow. (I wimped out today as well and drove). We received 4 inches last night, but the wind has been strong and from the northeast for over a day now. Looks like a Deusy is coming!

Wow, they are predicting a lot of snow to fall! I wouldn't want to be riding either; it wouldn't even be possible!

Shovel slowly and be safe. Enjoy ! !

Good luck and stay safe with the snow. Our ten inches is over and cleared off the driveway. I may get out and tootle up and down the block after a while. I loved your use of the phrase, "a Deusy". Ron

That sounds blizzardish. I've noticed that on the East Coast a blizzard is defined pretty much as 6"+ of snow, in Indiana a blizzard is apparently 6" of snow with high winds. Here in Minnesota a blizzard is 6" of snow(or more)with high winds, AND TEMPERATURES DROPPING TO BELOW ZERO. All things are relative. Somewhere a blizzard is 24"+ inches, etc.
