What a great day. We finally got to 60 degrees. A nice night to ride, although the south wind was strong, at least it was warm. I heard the first red-winged blackbird on Monday, and saw my first wood duck of the season today. More cold weather is coming, but highs in the 30's & 40's is pretty nice.

We got to about 80 degrees yesterday and I rode my bike in shorts and sandals. I even got out of my shirt transplanting my bamboo. I don't know how you do it. My old bones just can't deal with the cold and that is anything below 50 degrees.

Actually I feel pretty fortunate to live here where it is snow-free now. I used to live in northern Wisconsin and I never rode my bike before mid-May. Biking, or at least reading about biking, is what kept me going this winter. I'm guessing that if you lived here, you'd probably feel the same way. But someday, my wife and I are going to head south in the winter and do some biking in January or February. It's nice knowing there are really warm places this time of year. Enjoy!
